What Is The Marriage Course?

The Marriage Course was developed by Nicky and Sila Lee from Alpha International in 1996. Having been married for over forty years with four children, they have spoken to thousands in their mission to reinvigorate marriage and family life around the world.

The Marriage Course talks are presented in DVD talks featuring Nicky and Sila Lee. The talks are interspersed with filmed clips of couples talking about their experiences of marriage and street interviews from around the world.

Over seven sessions of the course you will discover practical tools to help you:

understand each other’s needs
communicate more effectively
grow closer by learning methods to resolve conflict
recover from the ways you may have hurt each other
recognise how your upbringing affects your relationship
improve relationships with parents and in-laws
develop greater sexual intimacy
discover each other’s “love languages” and much, much more!

Who is it for?

The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to invest in their relationship, whether they are in a married relationship for one year or 61 years, and whether feel they have a strong relationship or are struggling. Some couples do the course to invest in their relationship, others need more urgent help. Either way, the course offers a lifetime of practical ideas and tools to help improve and strengthen your relationship.

While The Marriage Course is based on Christian principles, it is designed for couples with or without a Christian faith. Many couples who are not church goers have commented that the Christian content was presented in a way that did not make them uncomfortable at all.

What can we expect?

Over seven sessions of the course, you will be served with food and/or drink, seated at your own table for two while listening to practical talks, either given live or played on DVD, and a time for private discussion between you and your partner.

Background music ensures that you can chat in complete privacy. You never share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.
